My first option got sold (JAVA)

March 23rd, 2009

As I stated previously, I was playing with the stock market :–D to see how they react to my business. I have put some stocks for the call option, one of them was JAVA at that point I was selling it for 7 which reached 8.50 high two days ago and I sold the stock for 7 dollars, it seems that I did do a mistake but today’s rate for JAVA stock was only 7.94 after a non-going through negotiations news came out from IBM and SUN camps. I don’t believe that SUN is willing to be sold to IBM in this economic down term, I will wait and buy the JAVA stock again at 4 or so amount of dollars.

How to make money in bad economy through Stock Market

February 17th, 2009

I am not a professional to the stock market, not even know a little bit about the stock market, but I began trading right after the stocks fall down. My basic strategy was to look at which stock is dealt more and try to buy that, usually the stocks which declared their gains / losses during the last year are a good candidate. Then you just need to wait for that shock to fade away from the market and the stock price goes to its original price again. Within two or three days you simply are making a great money. This method doesn’t need that much time and knowledge, just buy some, sell two or three days after and you have some extra cash.

Thinkorswim to be acquired by TD

January 20th, 2009

toscanadalogo 184x541 Thinkorswim to be acquired by TDIt is simple. The great thinkorswim company which I loved it with their great support team is now going to be acquired by TD AMERITRADE.

TD AMERITRADE will acquire thinkorswim for approximately $606 million.

TD AMERITRADE will retain key members of thinkorswim management. Mr. Barba will have an active role in the transition, and thinkorswim founders Tom Sosnoff and Scott Sheridan will join TD AMERITRADE after the transaction closes.

The transaction is subject to approval by thinkorswim stockholders, regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. TD AMERITRADE and thinkorswim expect the deal to close within the next six months.

So if you want to get into the stock market, be sure to do it fast and get into it before the acquisition since the terms and fees might be changed after the acquision.

Call Option

December 8th, 2008

Options are the second level of trading when you get into the stock market. You can simple sell call options on your owned stocks (some brokers allow you to sell options without having the stocks in hand thought, that way the risk is so high that you don’t want to take the risk as a naive person). The selling of call option is like renting a home and hoping its value goes up (or in some case goes down and you make money on your rent.). I have found a bunch of tutuorials online, videos, texts and much much more but I liked the one below a lot. After seeing this one I put my first call option sell order and hope to cash some money.

The first one covers the basic of call option while the second one helps you to handle more sophisticated ways of dealing with options and getting to know it better.
